Those red dots hide the actual, real, to-scale map of the corn maze you are trying to solve. The trick is you can't see it! 

Maize-o-Vision stations are outfitted with a special lens that magically makes those dots disappear! When you find a Maize-o-Vision Station, slide your map behind the special lens and wah-la! You can see the corn maze map AND see where you are on the map.
